The time on the plane went by sort of quickly for a 12 hour 45 minute flight. Pat watched 4 movies: Grandma, He Named me Malala, Our Brand is Crisis and Ricki and the Flash. They were all different and made the time pass quickly. Jim watched Apocalypse Now directors cut on his tablet.
For lunch Pat had seasonal greens with tomatoes, Kalamata olives, carrots and sesame ginger vinaigrette, stir fried noodles with shrimp and scallops in oyster sauce and shrimp and pork dumplings, grapes and a hot fudge sundae. Jim had smoked salmon with maple horseradish mustard, seasonal greens with tomatoes, Kalamata olives and carrots with half blue cheese dressing and sesame ginger vinaigrette, cheese and crackers served with port.
For a mid-flight snack they served Chinese style soup with noodles, won ton, vegetables and braised beef in savory broth serve with a cup of tea.
Prior to our arrival we both had a pepper jack cheese omelette with black beans, corn, roasted red pepper with red skin and sweet potatoes, chicken sausage and corn and black bean medley with fruit cup, yogurt and cinnamon roll or croissant.
Thatcher called and face timed us while on the plane. Of course, I didn't know you couldn't do that so I was told I had to hang up for security reasons but at least we got to see and talk to him for a few minutes. I could see tears on his face and it made me sad.
