We saw floating pieces of ice around the San Valentin glacier that gave us the most dramatic views of this natural wonder. This glacier also has the distinction of being the world's closest to the equator. The view was spectacular as well as the color of this "Blue Wall". We heard cracks and saw the crash of the glacier calving. It was an unforgettable experience. It was cold outside and a nice hot chocolate and coffee was waiting for us back inside the warm boat. As we took our last look at the spectacular setting we sat back for our 40 minute ride back to the ship. Unfortunately due to global warming the glacier is melting faster than normal and eventually will be gone.
