We arrived in Lima and had to connect to an international flight by going through another security line which was super long. All flights must have arrived at once as there were so many people waiting. There were two entrances but they had closed off the automatic escalator area so when we asked the person where we needed to go he pointed over to the left so we ended up cutting in a group of people and missed part of the line. I don't think the other people were too happy about it but we had no idea what we were doing and couldn't understand what they were saying. We had flown Taka Airlines to Peru so we had to get a boarding pass for LAN Airlines so after security we picked up our boarding pass. Because we were flying business-class we were able to go into the VIP lounge to wait for two hours for our flight to board. When we boarded the flight they had a secondary hand luggage inspection before we could get on the plane. We had never seen that before. We had an 8 1/2 hour flight to Los Angeles and luckily we had sleeper seats which we tried to sleep in. Jim caught Pat sleeping and snapped a picture. We used our Bose noise canceling headphones and it sure helped keep down the airplane noise. It was great to arrive in Los Angeles and be met by Kent, Rachel and Thatcher. Thatcher gave Pat the biggest hug and it lasted so long. That hug was the best welcome home gift. It's great to be home!
