Corcovado

At Cosme Velho we left the coach and boarded the cog railway up to Corcovado, meaning "hunchback" in Portuguese, which is a mountain in central Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The half mile high granite peak is claimed to be the highest in Brazil, located in the Tijuca Forest, a national Park. As the train made its 20 minute ride up the mountain we went through dense vegetation glimpsing now and again spectacular views of Rio.
