Lima Cathedral

Lima Cathedral is the main church of the city and the first stone was laid for the original cathedral in 1535. Construction of the current structure began in 1746, and several earthquakes have resulted in much of the cathedral being rebuilt overtime. Inside are a series of paintings that depict the men who accompanied Francisco Pizarro, the conquistador who defeated the Incas. A glass coffin holds his mummified remains.
