Today's tour began with a 30 min ride up a steep road to Paleokastritsa to a Monastery where just 6 monks still live & was founded in 1225. Then we went to Kanoni for a photo stop which had a magnificent view over the bay of Mouse Island & the tiny convent of Vlachernae. Then we stopped in Corfu Town for a walking tour of Old Town. The Church of St. Spiridon, the patron of Corcu had a service going on so we heard beautiful music from inside. The town had lots of little shops with Parisian arcades, Italian architecture, and English cricket square. Olive oil is the chief product of Corfu & is considered to be among the best in Greece. Corfu is covered with olives, cypress trees, citrus & fruit trees and vineyards.
