Our last stop was to drive from the ridge to the old city center of Braga to the Cathedral which they consider one of Braga's most important monuments. The outside is rather plain but inside There were 2 massive gilded organs, vaulted arches and a 16th century statue of Madonna. Our guide told us we could take pictures inside but one of the men in the church got in a shouting match with our guide about no pictures so he won - no pictures could be taken. Some of us had gotten a few pictures with our cameras before we had to stop though.
We had a half hour to walk the old town of Braga but most of the stores were closed for siesta but we did find one children's store open and of course, we found an outfit for Thatcher.
